The Preparation Plant

Greenbrier has a state-of-the-art preparation plant, which has fine and secondary circuits. It is currently in operation treating outside purchased coal. There is a batch weight rail loadout that can load a 75-car unit in 4 hours, it's serviced by the CSX rail system. The overland conveyer system not only moves coal from Mountaineer 1 to the preparation plant, and from the plant to the rail loadout/paved storage area, but also carries material from the plant to the life-of-mine refuse. The enclosed overland belting system dramatically reduces the costs of moving materials. It is strategically located with rail service to Great Lakes, Mid-Atlantic and Gulf of Mexico ports, providing access to both domestic and global markets.
